Baccarat Protocols
Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards under 10 are said to be at face value whereas ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they just represent the two hands to be dealt).
Two hands of 2 cards shall then be played to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The total for any hand will be the grand total of the two cards, but the first digit is discarded. For example, a hand of seven … 5 will have a total score of two (sevenplusfive=twelve; drop the ‘1′).
A 3rd card might be given depending on the following rules:
- If the bettor or banker has a value of 8 or 9, the two gamblers stand.
- If the bettor has five or lower, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.
- If player stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the player hits, a chart shall be used in order to determine if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The higher of the two scores is the winner. Victorious wagers on the banker pay out 19 to twenty (even money minus a 5% commission. Commission is followed closely and cleared out when you leave the table so be sure to have $$$$$ left before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to 1. Winning bets for tie by and large pay 8 to one and on occasion 9 to one. (This is a terrible bet as ties happen lower than 1 every 10 hands. Run away from placing bets on a tie. Still, odds are generously better – nine to one versus 8 to 1)
When played properly, baccarat offers relatively good odds, apart from the tie bet ofcourse.
Baccarat Tactics
As with all games, Baccarat has some common myths. One of which is quite similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is in no way an actual indicator of future results. Monitoring of prior outcomes on a chart is a waste of paper and an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most popular and probably most successful strategy is the one-three-2-six scheme. This plan is employed to pump up successes and minimizing risk.
start by betting 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, subtract 4 so you have 2 on the third wager. If you win the third bet, add two to the 4 on the table for a sum of 6 on the fourth wager.
If you lose on the initial bet, you take a loss of one. A win on the first bet followed up by loss on the 2nd creates a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. Winning all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. Therefore you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
