Baccarat Rules

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards below a value of ten are counted at their printed number while ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they strictly appear as the two hands to be given out).

Two hands of two cards are then given out to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The value for every hand is the sum of the 2 cards, but the initial digit is dropped. For example, a hand of seven and five results in a tally of 2 (sevenplusfive=twelve; drop the ‘1′).

A third card could be given out depending on the following standards:

- If the bettor or banker has a tally of 8 or nine, the two players stand.

- If the gambler has five or less, he hits. gamblers stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the gambler hits, a chart shall be used to determine if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The larger of the two scores will be the winner. Successful wagers on the banker pay at 19 to 20 (even odds less a 5 percent commission. Commission is followed closely and paid out when you leave the table so make sure that you have funds still before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to one. Winning bets for tie generally pay out eight to one but sometimes nine to 1. (This is a terrible gamble as ties happen less than 1 every 10 hands. be wary of betting on a tie. Regardless odds are decidedly better – nine to 1 versus 8 to one)

Played smartly, baccarat provides generally good odds, aside from the tie wager obviously.

Baccarat Tactics

As with many games, Baccarat has some common misconceptions. 1 of which is similar to a roulette misconception. The past is never actually a predictor of future actions. Keeping track of historic outcomes on a chart is undoubtedly a total waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most popular and possibly most successful technique is the one-3-2-6 scheme. This method is used to boost profits and minimizing risk.

start by wagering one unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, clear away 4 so you have 2 on the third wager. If you win the 3rd wager, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a sum total of 6 on the fourth bet.

If you lose on the 1st bet, you take a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet followed by loss on the second causes a loss of two. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you come out even. A win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. In other words that you can fail to win the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
