Punto Banco Principles

Baccarat chemin de fer is gambled on with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards below ten are worth their printed number while at the same time Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and A is 1. Wagers are made on the ‘banker’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they just represent the two hands to be dealt).

Two cards are given to both the ‘house’ and ‘player’. The total for each hand is the sum total of the cards, although the 1st number is discarded. For instance, a hand of 5 and 6 has a score of one (five plus six equals 11; ditch the first ‘1′).

A 3rd card may be dealt depending on the following rules:

- If the player or house gets a score of 8 or nine, both players stand.

- If the player has 5 or lower, he takes a card. Players otherwise stay.

- If the gambler stays, the bank hits on 5 or less. If the gambler hits, a chart is used to determine if the banker stays or hits.

Punto Banco Odds

The bigger of the two totals wins. Winning bets on the banker pay out nineteen to Twenty (equal cash minus a 5 percent rake. The Rake is recorded and cleared out when you leave the table so ensure you still have money left over before you head out). Winning bets on the gambler pays 1 to 1. Winning bets for a tie normally pays 8 to 1 but occasionally 9 to 1. (This is a bad bet as a tie occurs lower than 1 in every 10 hands. Avoid wagering on a tie. Although odds are astonishingly better for 9 to 1 versus eight to one)

Bet on correctly baccarat offers generally good odds, apart from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Strategy

As with all games punto banco has some accepted misconceptions. One of which is the same as a absurdity in roulette. The past is not a prophecy of events yet to happen. Tracking previous outcomes at a table is a bad use of paper and an insult to the tree that surrendered its life for our paper desires.

The most accepted and possibly the most favorable course of action is the one-three-two-six plan. This plan is deployed to maximize earnings and limit losses.

Start by wagering one dollar. If you succeed, add another to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 units on the second bet. If you win you will hold six on the table, pull off four so you have 2 on the third round. If you come away with a win on the 3rd wager, put down two on the four on the game table for a grand total of six on the fourth wager.

Should you lose on the first round, you take a hit of 1. A profit on the initial bet followed by a loss on the 2nd causes a hit of 2. Success on the 1st two with a hit on the 3rd provides you with a gain of two. And success on the first three with a loss on the fourth means you break even. Winning all four bets gives you with 12, a take of 10. This means you are able to give up the second round 5 instances for each favorable streak of four rounds and still experience no loss.
