Baccarat Rules
Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards that are valued under ten are counted at their printed value while ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they purely symbolize the two hands to be played).
Two hands of 2 cards will now be given to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The value for each hand shall be the sum of the two cards, but the very first digit is discarded. For eg, a hand of seven and five results in a value of two (7plus5=twelve; drop the ‘1′).
A 3rd card may be dealt depending on the following guidelines:
- If the player or banker has a score of eight or nine, the two bettors stand.
- If the bettor has five or less, he hits. Players stand otherwise.
- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the gambler hits, a chart shall be used to decide if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The higher of the two scores is the winner. Victorious stakes on the banker pay at nineteen to 20 (even odds minus a five percent commission. Commission is monitored and cleared out when you leave the table so be sure to have money still before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to one. Winning bets for tie customarily pays out at 8 to 1 but sometimes nine to 1. (This is a crazy gamble as ties happen less than one every ten hands. Run away from wagering on a tie. Still, odds are decidedly better – nine to 1 vs. eight to 1)
When done correctly, baccarat offers relatively good odds, aside from the tie wager obviously.
Baccarat Strategy
As with just about all games, Baccarat has some common myths. One of which is very similar to a roulette misconception. The past is not a predictor of future actions. Keeping track of last results on a chart is simply a total waste of paper as well as a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most common and feasibly most successful technique is the 1-three-2-6 method. This technique is employed to pump up successes and cutting back risk.
start by betting one unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, subtract four so you have 2 on the 3rd bet. If you win the 3rd gamble, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a sum total of six on the 4th bet.
If you don’t win on the initial bet, you take a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet quickly followed by loss on the second brings about a loss of 2. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. Coming out on top on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. Therefore you can get beaten the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
