Baccarat Procedures

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards which are valued less than 10 are said to be worth their printed value and on the other hand 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual contenders; they simply symbolize the two hands to be given out).

2 hands of two cards will now be played to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The score for any hand is the grand total of the two cards, but the very first digit is dropped. For e.g., a hand of seven … five has a total of two (7plusfive=twelve; drop the ‘one’).

A 3rd card may be given out depending on the foll. practices:

- If the bettor or banker has a total score of 8 or nine, the two players stand.

- If the bettor has five or lower, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If gambler stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the bettor hits, a chart might be used to figure if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the two scores will be the winner. Winning bets on the banker payout 19 to 20 (even odds less a 5% commission. Commission is tracked and paid out when you leave the table so make sure you have cash left over before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to 1. Winner bets for tie customarily pays out at eight to 1 and sometimes nine to one. (This is a crazy wager as ties will occur lower than 1 every 10 hands. Run away from wagering on a tie. However odds are emphatically better – nine to one versus 8 to one)

When done correctly, baccarat provides relatively decent odds, aside from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Strategy

As with just about every games, Baccarat has some common misconceptions. 1 of which is similar to a roulette misconception. The past is in no way an indicator of future actions. Tracking of previous outcomes on a chart is a total waste of paper as well as an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most established and possibly most successful strategy is the 1-3-two-6 method. This tactic is deployed to boost payout and reducing risk.

start by betting 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, clear away 4 so you have 2 on the third wager. If you win the 3rd bet, add two to the four on the table for a sum total of six on the 4th gamble.

If you don’t win on the first wager, you take a loss of 1. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the second will create a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. Winning all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. In other words you can lose the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
