Baccarat Rules
Baccarat is played with eight decks in a dealing shoe. Cards below ten are worth their printed number and with Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and Ace is 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or on a tie (these aren’t actual people; they simply represent the two hands that are dealt).
Two cards are dealt to both the ‘house’ and ‘player’. The score for each hand is the total of the cards, although the 1st number is discarded. For instance, a hand of 5 and six has a value of 1 (5 plus 6 = 11; dump the first ‘1′).
A 3rd card may be given using the rules below:
- If the player or bank gets a total of 8 or nine, the two players hold.
- If the player has 5 or less, he hits. Players stays otherwise.
- If the gambler stands, the bank takes a card on 5 or less. If the player takes a card, a table is used to see if the bank stands or takes a card.
Baccarat Odds
The better of the 2 scores wins. Winning bets on the house pay out 19 to 20 (even money less a 5% commission. Commission are recorded and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure you have cash left over just before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to 1. Winning bets for tie normally pay eight to one but sometimes 9:1. (This is a bad wager as ties occur less than 1 in every 10 rounds. Be cautious of betting on a tie. Although odds are substantially better for nine to one vs. 8 to 1)
Gambled on properly punto banco provides fairly good odds, apart from the tie wager of course.
Baccarat Banque Scheme
As with all games Baccarat has quite a few familiar misunderstandings. One of which is the same as a misunderstanding in roulette. The past is not a harbinger of events yet to happen. Keeping score of previous results at a table is a bad use of paper and a snub to the tree that was cut down for our paper desires.
The most common and definitely the most successful scheme is the one, three, two, six technique. This plan is employed to maximize winnings and limit losses.
Start by betting 1 dollar. If you succeed, add another to the two on the table for a grand total of 3 dollars on the second bet. Should you succeed you will now have six on the table, take away four so you are left with 2 on the 3rd round. Should you succeed on the 3rd wager, put down 2 on the 4 on the table for a total of 6 on the 4th wager.
Should you lose on the 1st bet, you take a hit of one. A win on the first round followed by a loss on the second causes a loss of two. Success on the first two with a defeat on the 3rd gives you with a profit of 2. And wins on the initial 3 with a hit on the fourth means you break even. Succeeding at all 4 bets gives you with twelve, a profit of 10. This means you will be able to lose the 2nd round 5 instances for each successful streak of four rounds and still experience no loss.
